We provide a range of support and para-professional services including:
Cleaning, sorting and packing of archives and records: our Archives Assistants are available to provide a range of support services. Experienced in the handling of delicate items, they will unpack collections, remove damaging materials such as metal clips and replace them with archival-quality materials, conduct surface cleaning and basic remedial work, pack items in archival quality folders and boxes, label and re-house collections as appropriate. All of this is essential for the physical safeguarding of your records and archives.
Data Entry: we also provide data entry staff for the compilation of databases, where professional cataloguing services are not required. Our staff can extract details from original source material or from digitized copies. We can provide staff who are accustomed to dealing with Irish-language names and place-names, ensuring accuracy and reliability. Many of our projects involve handling sensitive data, and discretion and confidentiality is assured. Arcline is registered as a data processor with the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner.
We have also developed strong links with experts in related fields to provide a comprehensive and independent service. We can arrange services from leading providers including:
- Digitisation specialists, with particular reference to the digitizing archives and special collections
- Off-site storage providers
- Archival and records management software vendors
- Suppliers of archival storage and conservation products
